MQ-2 Smoke and Gas Sensor Price in Pakistan
The MQ-2 module is a heated metal-oxide semiconductor sensor for educational smoke and combustible-gas detection projects. It responds broadly to several gases and vapours, so it is useful for relative detection and threshold experiments rather than selective laboratory measurement.
Connections and outputs
- VCC: listed 5V supply
- GND: common ground
- AOUT: analog signal that changes with sensor response
- DOUT: adjustable digital threshold output on supported module versions
Listed characteristics
- Broad response to smoke and combustible gases such as LPG, propane, methane and hydrogen
- Listed sensitivity range: approximately 200 to 10,000ppm, depending on gas and calibration
- Analog output: up to the module supply range
- Digital TTL threshold output
- Approximate module dimensions: 36 × 20 × 10mm
Warm-up and calibration
The sensing element contains a heater and needs warm-up before readings stabilise. Follow the sensor manufacturer’s conditioning and calibration procedure for the intended gas and environment. Temperature, humidity, ageing and exposure history can change the response.
Safety limitation
This module is intended for learning and prototyping. It is cross-sensitive, is not a selective gas analyser and must not replace a certified smoke alarm, gas alarm or life-safety detector.
