The MQ-7 module is intended for carbon-monoxide sensing experiments and educational gas-monitoring prototypes. It provides an analog response and, on supported module versions, an adjustable digital threshold output.

Heater cycle and calibration

The MQ-7 sensing element requires a controlled heater cycle rather than a simple immediate reading. Follow the applicable sensor documentation, allow conditioning and warm-up time, and calibrate it for the intended environment. Temperature, humidity, ageing and other gases can affect the response.

This module is for learning and prototyping only. It is not a certified carbon-monoxide alarm and must not replace an approved detector, ventilation control or other life-safety equipment.
